How to prevent players from griefing

Griefing is a major concern for many Minecraft server owners. It can be frustrating and time-consuming to deal with players who intentionally destroy or alter other players' creations. One effective way to prevent griefing on your Minefort server is by using a whitelist and plugins.

A whitelist is a list of approved players who are allowed to join your server. Only players who are on the whitelist will be able to access the server, which helps to prevent unauthorized players from causing damage or disruption.

Start your server: Make sure your server is online and you have access to the server console or are connected to your server;
Enable whitelist: To enable the whitelist, use the command `/whitelist on` in the Console terminal in your server dashboard or in-game. This will prevent any players who are not on the whitelist from connecting to your server;
Add players to whitelist: To add a player to the whitelist, use the command `/whitelist add <player>` where <player> is the name of the player you want to add;
Remove players from whitelist: To remove a player from the whitelist, use the command `/whitelist remove <player>` where <player> is the name of the player you want to remove;
Check whitelist: To check the list of players currently on the whitelist, use `/whitelist list` command;
Disable whitelist: To disable the whitelist, use the command `/whitelist off` in the Console terminal in your server dashboard or in-game.

It is important to note that server operators will be able to join the server regardless of if they are on the whitelist or not.

There are also a number of plugins that can help to prevent griefing on your Minefort server. These plugins can be installed on your server to provide additional security and prevent players from causing damage or disruption. Some popular grief prevention plugins include:

WorldGuard: This plugin allows you to define protected regions on your server, where players are not allowed to build or destroy blocks. You can also set permissions for different regions, so that certain players are able to build and others are not.
Lockette: This plugin allows you to lock doors, chests, and other containers to prevent players from accessing them. You can also set permissions for different players, so that certain players are able to access locked items and others are not.
GriefPrevention: This plugin provides a number of tools to help you prevent griefing on your server. It allows you to define protected areas, set permissions for different players, and even roll back griefing damage.

By using a whitelist and grief prevention plugins, you can help to ensure that your Minefort server is not griefed by players who are intent on causing harm or disruption. While no system is foolproof, these measures can go a long way towards protecting your server and keeping it enjoyable for all players. So, it is always better to be safe than sorry. 🔒
